The Inspiration:
This picture was the second in the line of prophetic paintings that I started. The theme verse is Revelation 22:14, which says, "Blessed are those that keep the commandments, that they may have right to the Tree of Life, and may enter in through the gates into the city." On the open book is written all of the Ten Commandments in Hebrew, and springing up from the center of the Book is the Tree of Life. The bride walking on the Book approaching the tree represents the Body of Messiah walking in the ways of God and being able to enter the Kingdom. The gates can be seen behind the tree, and the shofar represents the announcement of the coming of Yeshua to get His bride. The dove is a representation of the Holy Spirit, and the river at the bottom of the picture symbolizes the River of Life. There is tiny Hebrew writing of Scripture throughout the picture. The medium I used for this picture was Rembrandt soft pastels. My favorite element to do was the tree and the roots growing down into the book. I loved the symbolism of the Tree of Life growing up from the Ten Commandments and how when we walk in His ways we can partake of His Life. This picture took me a year as well to complete, working on it as I could in between working and helping around the house and our small family farm. I completed it in the spring/summer of 2020.
